The “Invitationals” plans to run at various V8 Supercar rounds around Australia and will be a unique opportunity for fans of all ages to share in the excitement of both past and present automotive muscle that perhaps would otherwise never be seen at this country's premier motorsport events.

The “Invitationals” will produce thrilling and varied forms of racing, utilising race categories such as Classic Cars, Exotic Cars, Muscle Cars, Targa Cars, Drift Cars and current Performance Cars, each at different V8 Supercar rounds and delivering on-track excitement with plenty of action that is cost effective for the competitors.

At Symmons Plains The "Invitationals" will feature the Targa Tasmania Tarmac Rally - Targa Class of cars. These cars can vary in age and make and must be eligible to compete in the annual Targa Tasmania Tarmac Rally, which now in it's 18th year and is regarded as one of the best tarmac rallies in the world.

The cars will compete in 2 classes:

* Targa A - Outright; open to any modified specification 'Targa Type' car fitted with grooved tyres.

* Targa B - Open to any limited modified specification 'Targa Type' car fitted with grooved tyres.
